2017 - A Year in Review Competent Practitioners • Began Standards of Practice review and selected Registrants to provide input and expertise on the Standards of Practice Advisory Group (SPAG). • Presented a session at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) for students completing their didactic portion of the CLXT program. The content focused on self-regulation and the professional responsibilities of a regulated health professional in Alberta. • Delivered two (2) sittings of the ACCLXT Provincial Examination to 36 candidates in 4 locations across the province. Excellence in Practice • Held biennial conference in April. Yet again increased in numbers with over 230 registered attendees. The conference- goers were very pleased with the speaker selection and are looking forward to another successful day in 2019! • Celebrated CLXT week from October 15-22. The College provided material to sites to promote awareness of the CLXT profession. Initiatives and Collaborations • Participated on the board of the Alberta Federation of Regulated Health Professions (AFRHP) to facilitate collective and collaborative action on the Health Professions Act (HPA) and other legislation and/or issues that may impact regulation. • Participated as a member of the AFRHP Continuing Competence Interest Group which brings individuals responsible for Colleges’ competence programs together for networking and education. • Participated on the AFRHP Registration Interest Group which provides a forum for sharing of information and discussion on matters related to registration processes in accordance with HPA, as well as bringing entry-to-practice related legislative issues forward to the federation. • Participated on the AFRHP Complaints Director Interest Group, a network of individuals who are responsible for the complaints processes for their Colleges. • Selected to sit on the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee, which identifies and brings legislative issues forward to the AFRHP which impact the regulatory work of the members. 12
